The Manager, Employee Relations serves as a consultant to management on Human Resource related issues. The Manager, Employee Relations assesses and anticipates HR-related needs, communicating needs proactively, and seeks to develop integrated solutions. The incumbent formulates collaborative relationships to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization. To provide professional leadership in the areas of employee relations, employee activities, retention and coordination of management development in the areas listed above. Maintaining compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations is a key responsibility for this position. Accomplishment of these primary functions is completed in concert with the Human Resources staff from HR Operations and the Centers of Excellence. Serves as the in-house leader for the local system for Employee/Physician relations and engagement, policy formation, development, regulatory and legislative matters, drug free workplace program and related matters.


1. A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or similar course of study from an
accredited university or college required.
2. Ten (10) years of progressive Human Resources experience required and minimum of five (5 years) management
experience preferred.
3. Working knowledge of multiple Human Resource disciplines including employee relations, organizational
development, performance and change management, recruitment, compensation practices and federal and
state employment laws. SPHR or PHR preferred.
4. Experience in a unionized environment including, but not limited to contract negotiations, collective bargaining,
grievance handling, daily labor relations, and development of labor relations strategies; member of contract
negotiating committee preferred.




POSITION SUMMARY In this highly visible role, the Talent Consultant will collaborate as a key business partner with Bon Secours leaders, deliver recruiting results in a fast paced, high energy environment, and strengthen the company’s image as the employer of choice. Responsible for exceeding internal client expectations by identifying, attracting, and hiring top talent who fit the culture, mission and values of Bon Secours Health System.



1.        A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration or applicable course of study (Advanced degree preferred).

2.        PHR or SPHR required or must be obtained as soon as eligible

3.        Minimum 5-7 years of Talent Acquisition/related experience in a best-in-class organization

4.        Experience operating in a consultative and/or advisory capacity

5.        Requires excellent skills in influence, negotiation, collaboration, and handling difficult conversations

6.        Skilled with competency and behavior based interview and assessment

7.        Knowledge of state and federal employment laws

8.        Experience in developing and delivering recruitment strategies and processes to improve outcomes (decreased time to fill, increased quality of hire, etc.)

9.        Adept with using a variety of recruiting technologies to source talent (internet sourcing, direct recruiting, networking methods)

10.     Experience as a change agent, comfortable with ambiguity, in a fast paced business environment.
